While Seaton Park is small, at just six hectares, it certainly is pretty. An island of coastal forest in suburbia. It is a welcome getaway from the city centre of Durban (which is a mere 15 minute drive away) and offers its guests the relaxing ambience of tall green trees and beautiful birds. Seaton Park features a wide and interesting variety of plants and birds, as well as toilets and a playground for the children. There are a number of trails which run through Seaton Park, covering a total distance of just over one kilometer. Visitors can easily walk around the park in half an hour, but if one stops to examine the plants and birds, they can expect to stay for at least two hours.
The park is open at all times and there is no entrance fee. There is a small play area for little ones, as well as a picnic area. Those visiting Seaton are advised to bring along fresh drinking water, sunscreen, a camera and some light refreshments.
